Investing in People: TSM’s Commitment to Workforce Development

TSM Media Team

Total Specialist Maintenance (TSM) are supporting the delivery of our growing pipeline of contracts with the expansion of our teams working at sites across various regions.

Natham Topham, Darren Mannion, Ryan Krause and Connor Gillan recently joined TSM as general operatives, enhancing our capacity and capabilities across a range of specialist services. This dedicated and experienced quartet is playing a crucial role in executing projects across various sectors, including aviation, bridges and tunnels, education, healthcare, and more.

TSM are also passionate about playing our part in developing the next generation of talent in the construction workforce. As part of that commitment, we introduced a Site-Based Industry Training Programme, providing a new intake of colleagues with the opportunity to develop a career pathway with TMS. Most recently, we were delighted to welcome Will Lewis, Joe Cooper and Asha McCalla as the latest recruits to arrive as part of the programme.

This training initiative is designed to equip newcomers with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in our industry. By working alongside TSM’s seasoned professionals, our trainees gain hands-on experience supplemented by course-based learning, ensuring they are well-prepared to support our diverse range of services. During their training period, our operatives gain skills and experience across a range of disciplines, from the application of chemical resistant linings to intricate repairs to concrete and the implementation of advanced waterproofing solutions. TSM General Manager, Adam Taylor, said:

“While investing in the latest equipment and technologies is an essential part of TSM’s service delivery, we believe that people are our greatest assets, and we’re excited to expand our team with the recruitment of some very impressive individuals. Nathan, Darren, Ryan and Connor have seamlessly fitted into our teams, applying their skills and abilities to excellent effect, while Joe, Will and Asha are thriving in our Site-Based Industry Training Programme. It has been a joy to see their progress in a short period of time and they have enormous potential to build a rewarding and fulfilling career in construction. By focusing on both the recruitment of experienced operatives and the development of new talent through our training programmes, TSM’s approach nurtures a growing team of skilled professionals ready to meet the evolving demands of the industry.”

Through strategic recruitment and comprehensive training, TSM continue to build our service capability and maintain our reputation for quality and reliability in the construction sector. A warm welcome to all our new recruits!
